Dylan
Hi Liz,
Thanks for helping dogs to find families!! Here is a picture of Barkley (Dylan) with our other dog Luna. They really like each other and he is adjusting really well. He is very smart, he loves to sleep on the bed and on the couch and we just found out he hates firecrackers. Our last dog was also terrified of them. If only more people knew how dogs were petrified of the sounds, maybe they would have more consideration.
Best wishes & Happy Holidays from our family to you and yours.
Sincerely,
Karin & Eric
Shelby
Zig & Shelby visited Kym last weekend. She took these pics. I said "I bet you never thought these two would end up in the same home together?" ... she said "never in a million years."
Life is funny. How things work out .... :)

Cloud
Hi Miley,
Cloud is doing well and is still a total sweetheart. We recently adopted another dog from the local shelter and this is a photo of her (Bella) and Cloud. She is a black german shepherd and is pretty young. We thought Cloud needed a companion, but I wish we had gone through Coastal so we could have known more about our new dog's personality. Bella has so much energy that sometimes I worry she is too much for sweet natured Cloud. He is such a gentle soul and she likes to follow him around and sort of get his attention. Hopefully she will calm down with some training and as she gets older. We also have a cat, who Cloud chased at first and it took a little while for the cat to make her way back into the house. But now everyone gets along and last night the cat actually slept on Cloud's bed right next to him!! We are very grateful to have Cloud and to Coastal for bringing him to us! Happy Holidays and thank you again for your nice card.
Best wishes,
Shari

Hi Liz,
Kenna's a complete love bug and would happily sit in your lap all day. She is the most affectionate dog I have ever met. She's easy to love and I love coming home from work to her happy greeting. I will never understand how anyone could have possibly abandon her.
Thank you again for everything you did today and giving me a chance to give this amazing dog a home.
Oscar
Opie is doing GREAT! He is such a happy and active dog! Last week at the vet, Opie weighed 48 lbs! He is so stocky and cute! I have attached a picture of him taking a nap with his little brother, Jax.

Steiner
Hi Diane
It is Gunther/Steiner. It has been 2 years now since you helped me find my forever home in Coronado.
I sure like it here. My humans adopted my sister after I had been with them for 6 months, because I was such a good boy and they wanted me to have a buddy.
Our days are long walks in the mornings with dad and then naps and rough housing with each other until he gets home.
Then we are off on a bike ride or to the dog park.
Our humans let us on all the furniture except for the one old coach and I spend a lot of time sleeping on the coach while my dad works on his computer or watches football.
We all sleep together at night. We all have our own beds.
I asked dad to include some photos of Maya and I.
From the pictures you will see we love to walk to the beach or bay every day.
People always tell us how pretty we are when we are out walking around town.
I don't know about pretty. Luckily my dad always says I am the most handsome dog alive.
Life is fun here. The humans are always taking us places, because we are so well adjusted (whatever that means) and we are nice to everyone/dog we meet.
We still like to chase cats though. Well not our kitty, but she was here first and is 19, so we give her the respect she deserves.
Dad takes us to the snow in the winter.
Now that we come back to him when off leash, he is going to take us skiing this winter.
Mom told him not to take us on anything too steep and he said not to worry we will just be Meadow Skipping, whatever that means.
That's it for now.
I think about you often and how lucky I was you helped save me.
Thank you
Love
Gunther
Dingo
Hi there!!! He's doing great and we're very lucky to have him. We went on our first hike yesterday and he was brilliant! He sleeps inside at the foot of the bed and doesn't make a fuss all night. I first tried the crate but he wasn't having any of it. He follows me around like a little kid and we are totally in love with him. Thanks again! His new name is Odin and he's already responding to it.

Opal
Spoke with Janine on 2/14/14. She had a DNA test done on Opal/Harley. According to Janine, the DNA tests went back to 3 generations pit bull (mother) and 3 generations Akita (father). Janine is happy to share that info with other O litter puppy families.
Savannah
Savannah...now known as Keena, is doing great. She has made herself at home(my end of the couch) and is loving all the walks and playtime. I am so glad that Coastal GSR rescued her and brought us together.
Alekona
Hello Kerrie. Here are a few pics of Kona adjusting to her new home/ life. It sure is tough but she's taking it like a champ. We start obedience classes this Wednesday

Hi Miley!
Thanks for the email! Things are going well and she is a super fast learner! Here's a picture of our happy family.
Edge
Edge now Boris, he is 8 months old and 63 pounds of pure joy. I am so happy to have found these pictures of him as a teeny baby. Though we have never met you, please know you have made a difference in our lives. Thank you for your hard work, dedication and sacrifice (aka your feather bed)! By choosing to foster dogs, you are responsible for fostering hope, love and joy in the world. It is inspiring and one day I hope to follow in your footsteps.

Elizabeth:
We really are ecstatic about it. We have had some tough adoption experiences in the past in regards to the facilities, how the volunteers treat people, and some incredibly misleading guidance/dishonesty. But, this was by the far the best experience we have ever had. You, Debbie, and Diana have been a God sent. You three have been so honest, timely, very kind, and it is clear how much you all truly care about these dogs. We have nothing short of the best of thoughts and things to say about the Coastal German Shepherd Rescue and are so impressed. If only all rescues and shelters were as amazing as yours. We have named Jasmine KoKo and there are some photos attached for you to see! Hope all is well.
Athena
She is a great and amazing dog. I am so happy. She is all and more than I could have hoped.
We stayed by the house the first day and didn't allow a lot of visitors. Today we went to my brothers for a play date with his dogs. Athena was ready to play, but my brothers dogs were scared of her. Still, she loved exploring his house and yard.
Attached are some pictures. I’m not the greatest photographer, but you’ll see that Athena has found and made a bed for herself in my home office, where we hang out in the A/C. She also absolutely loves the yard, and has been busy burying her marrow bone and other treats. I’d never actually seen a dog do that!
Hope you are well, and thanks again for helping bring her into my life.
Garth
Hi, Miley:
I don’t think I ever said THANK YOU! For putting in a good word for us. If it wasn’t for meeting you that day and talking with you, not sure we’d have our sweet little Dante (formerly Garth). I so appreciate your giving us the green light to foster him, and I’m sure you heard we adopted him like 24 hours after him coming home with us. Yesterday he was neutered so we’re making progress with the little guy.
Anyways, again we want to say thank you so much for all you do, and for trusting us to foster and adopt him. We absolutely adore him and he’s just the right fit for us!!!!
Nancy
Hi Elizabeth,
We brought Nancy home and renamed her Lola. She is getting along well with Luke and settling down in her new home. Keith and his family did a wonderful job socializing her.
Lulu
Miley thank you for all your help today. We are so excited to add Lulu to out family and as always it's a pleasure to adopt from CGSR.
We didn't exchange contact info with Danni but I know you two are friends so we hoped you'd pass these along to her

Einstein
Hi Dennis and Michelle,
This is just an update for you. Maverick (aka Einstien) is doing very well, he has been with us now for about 1.5 months. We just had a birthday party for my son, and he did very well with all of the people around the house. After his next boardtella vaccination, he will start to visit a doggy daycare a couple times a week so he can play with other dogs.

Diva
Geneva
We just wanted to thank you again and let you know that Geneva (who we have renamed Kona) is settling in well and we love her to pieces. Bear, our cat, is interested in her but still doesn't want her too close. She's already sleeping well in her crate and learning to go outside to potty.
Thank you again for all the work that you do for these dogs, and for the lucky owners who get to adopt them.
Hunter
Hello Miley,
Hope this message finds you well; it has been a long time coming. We just wanted to update you on the love of our life, Hunter.
Hunter has brought so much joy and happiness to our little family. We couldn't have asked for a more perfect bundle of joy. He is such a happy boy that he brings tears to my eyes sometimes because he makes me realize that life is to be enjoyed and that life is good.
He loves San Diego and loves going to the Dog Beach in Coronado. He goes on 7 mile runs two to three times a week with his other daddy but still has so much energy afterwards. He is always wagging that tail of his. He even gets along well with the cats!
Hunter has touched everybody he meets. My parents love him I think even more than they love me sometimes. They always ask how he is doing before they ask what's new in my life. Aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends always inquire after him and want to take care of him. It's so funny. Unequivocally though, they say what a well behaved dog he is. This is partly because of our training him, and partly because of your selection of him.
Miley, it's terribly uncanny how well you picked out Hunter for us. He is truly a special gift and our lives have been changed forever. Thank you also for the great xmas card. We keep it out on our desk to remind us of how lucky we really are.
Love,
John, Craig and Hunter
Ricky
Miley,
I just wanted to give you an update on Ricky (now Riley) that we adopted on March 18, 2013. He is doing great and is pictured with his mate Jazmine (adopted from the San Diego Chapter). They are getting along great and are inseparable. He is the sweetest and most loveable dog we have ever had. We are so glad that we were able to give him a good home.
