Tucker
Miley,
Thank you for patience and time you had spent with us on Saturday. I hope your event went well this weekend.
YES, we are very eager to be united with Cinderella........most likely we will call her CINDER.
My mom and I did make arrangements for Macy this Tuesday and will be ready to have our NEW ADOPTED friend live her live with mom (us). We were hoping you will be available this weekend so we may schedule an appointment to pick her up or meet again at PETSMART.
Please let me know what information you need from me and what your schedule is like.
Sincerely,
Janie
p.s. enjoy this pictures of my spoiled boy, TUCKER.

Hi, Miley!
This is Summer Dvorak from the Dvorak family! We adopted Cody 3 summers ago and I just wanted to email some pictures and tell you he is doing so fantastic! He loves going on long runs/walks with us through the hills of Park City. When we come to California he LOVES jumping in the ocean to get a ball. He is the most beautiful dog in the whole entire world! I am so glad we have him! He gets so much love everyday!
Jax
Jax found his family with a woman who already has a blind dog. He now lives with his canine sibling, mom and some cats! Always the character, Jax now spends his days with his mom and brother at the office, greeting clients, napping next to his mom's desk or sunbathing in the backyard.
Beck
Hi Melanie,
Everything went well and since we got home they are playing constantly.
Thank you for everything,
Jeff
Khaki
We have had Khaki for a month now and he is doing GREAT! He loves our 2 other dogs and as you can see in the picture, he is getting used to toys. Joe and Cathleen did an awesome job bringing my family and Khaki together. We occasionally bring Khaki by the PetsMart in Eastvale during adoption Sundays just so he can see Joe. Khaki does great with people and loves walks. He has such a unique look we are frequently stopped and asked about him. It is a great opportunity to talk about adoption and Coastal GSR. Thanks for all you do and for saving our Khaki.

I thought you would all like Rockie's (now Buddy) first family portrait : )
He's such a gorgeous pup!
Kona
A message from volunteer, Keith, who was Kona nka Bella's foster dad:
Hi Miley,
Here's the pic of Bella. She was rescued as a puppy because she was living on a balcony and a good samaritan convinced the owner to give her up. She was the adoption that Melanie arranged. She's been trained by Sirius K9 and her family(the Raish's) absolutely LOVE her.
Emma
Hello Dennis. I hope this email finds you well. I just wanted to say hello and thank you again for the opportunity to adopt our puppy. Emma is amazing. She is getting big quickly. She is so sweet and well behaved. She brings us such joy. Hearing the laughter of my children when they all play is like the sound of angels. She has chewed a few things but we have all survived it beautifully. The kids are now more motivated to put their things away...yeah!
We take her to dog beach now that she has all of her shots. I have included a picture of them all digging in the sand.
I will always remember your kindness during this process. And continue to feel blessed that we found Emma as has brought happiness back to our hearts after our beloved Charlie passed away.
I hope you have a wonderful summer. God Bless.
Paisley
Hey Melanie!
So I just wanted to give you an update on Paisley (we've actually renamed her Elsa). She's doing fantastic! Of course, as it is with both animals as well as people, she has her ups and downs, but overall she is an amazing dog. She is wonderful on the leash now. The first couple of days I just really worked with her and it just clicked. She now knows to sit at every curb before we cross a street and every time I stop she knows to sit beside me calmly. She is amazingly smart. She learns things so quickly and loves to learn. We go walking twice a day and she's helping me get into running and we go jogging in the mornings sometimes before I go to work. She loves our other dog and is always trying to get him to play and he is so patient with her. She jumps on him and grabs his leg and he just rolls with it. Her and our cat are getting along much better now that the cat isn't as apprehensive of her. She still wants to play with him which he is not so sure about. I have also now brought her with me to the barn a few times to see the horses and she's perfect. She's very respectful of the horses and just walks calmly by my side. We actually go on walks around the barn sometimes with her on one side and my horse on the other. My horse, surprisingly, really likes her too, so I was so happy about that. We're working on her socialization with other dogs and people. Some people she gets comfortable with right away and others take her a while but she has been really good about taking my cues (or our other dog's cues!) and will normally just lay down at my feet if I'm talking to people on walks, and she came with me to work the other day to meet my coworkers and just settled at my feet again to meet everyone. She is a definitely afraid of aggressive dogs and unfortunately we do have a lot of aggressive dogs in our neighborhood but we're working through the fear. She's met a couple of the more mellow dogs in the neighborhood and she's been very good with them. Just takes time! I'm thinking about taking her to obedience class just to socialize her more. Her one flaw that we found out one day is that she does get separation anxiety and she likes to take it out on the furniture, luckily so far in only one room. She hasn't destroyed too much (knock on wood), but if we're going to be gone for a few hours I'll put her in her crate now and she just settles down to sleep. She's a puppy though so I'm just working on channelling that excess energy in other pursuits and she's getting better.
As you can see from the photo I attached she is already spoiled and just recently decided that my bed and the couch are pretty cool places to be while watching TV. Or my lap if the cat hasn't claimed it first :)
I also just wanted to say thank you again so much and I'm so luckily to have this dog that you all rescued :)

Tanner
"Tanner" was adopted 7 yrs ago from Coastal. Found on the streets, obviously abused and no trust. Now he is frequently, "the only one that understands". Thank you Coastal for giving us a best friend!!
Nona
Hi Miley,
Last week I got the news letter that showed a litter of German Shepherd pups, which made me think to email you with a picture of Shiloh aka Nona while she's still with us. She's going down hill fast, and in a lot of pain everyday, her vet says she'll let us know when it's time. Shiloh's vet puts a warmed blanket on the floor and gets down there to make her exams more comfortable. He is taking very good care of her, great vet! Shiloh likes to bark at the deer, and squirrels that come in the yard from her bed in the living room we have low windows in there. When we got here 10 months ago she would chase them for a short sprint, she always showed a lot of heart.

Alaska
Hi Melanie!
Yes, Alaska (now Bella) is doing great!! She seemed a little depressed and down the first couple days, but quickly got used to things and is a complete sweet heart. We haven't mastered walking nicely on the leash yet (she's a little skittish/scared with cars, or other dogs barking at us from their yards) and she's not interested in playing with a ball or any toys, but she's learned her new name, she's potty trained and learned: "sit," "out of the kitchen," "shake my hand," and we're working on a few others. :)
My neighbor's little dogs continue to bark all the time when we're in the backyard, but she doesn't pay much attention to them, which is great. She did growl at them once and they quickly shut up. We've come across a couple of dogs on our walks through the neighborhood and although she's not initially aggressive towards them, she will growl back if they test her. If you guys have any tips on how best to slowly improve her socialization, I'd really appreciate it!! I want to introduce her to my friend's dogs since I dog-sit from time to time and go on walks with them occasionally and I really want her to make friends with them.
Oh!! Another tid-bit to make you laugh. I have wood floors throughout the house, so Bella has to walk really slowly and carefully or she slips when turning corners. The funniest part is when she sits because her front paws and her rear end slide away from each other and although she tries to keep sitted, she just ends up giving up and just sliding down to a laying down position instead. It's really funny to watch. I have to get more rugs throughout the house so she can actually stay seated if she wants. :)
Anyway, I guess the only things I am bummed about is that she doesn't care to play ball, she's skittish with cars down the street, and she wont get in my car on her own. I can't even bribe her to get in, I have to carry her to get her inside. She's so heavy so it's not very easy for me to do. Any ideas on what to do? I really want to take her running in other areas besides our neighborhood. :(
Ok, I'll stop blabbing about my baby girl and send you a couple pics.
Thanks for everything!! :)

Starla
My wife and I fostered a dog from you back in February of 2013 and then adopted her in March. We have moved across the country and are living in CT now. Trixx (she was Starla with you) saw her first snow this winter and loved it. She is doing wonderful. I saw your album of Happy Tails and wanted to send a photo of her to add to another successful adoption. Hope all is well and thanks for what you !"
Samba
We adopted Bella aka Samba when she was 10 weeks old, she is now 19 months and we can't imagine our life without her! Bella is known for her "party hat" ears! Thank you for bringing joy to our family

Warren
Hi Michelle,
I know its been quite some time since last we spoke but I just wanted to pass on to you that Warren has been an absolute god send! I can totally relate to the "who rescued who" car sticker. I can't imagine a day without Warren and how he has totally changed my life!
Please let the rescue know that I cannot thank them enough for rescuing such a wonderful being. I absolutely love him and he is such an amazing dog and friend.
Maxx
Hi Miley-
Just wanted to let you know that Maxx passed away yesterday of cancer. I
can't believe how lucky we were to find him. For 20 months he was very
happy and very, very loved. Even though we only knew him for such a
short time, he will be remembered for a very LONG time.
Thank you for bringing him into our lives.
Unissa
I'm so happy I chose to rescue a pup through Coastal. I'm glad it helps all these dogs in need. I hope to be able to donate more this year so you can all keep up the amazing work.
I adopted Unissa of the U pups. She now goes by Khaleesi. She is a wonderful dog! I am having a blast being her momma!

Hi Miley!
I hope all is well over at Coastal GSR. I've been lagging on sending you updates about Murray and I apologize for that. He's doing great at home with my parents - I've been in New York for work, but he's become best friends with my dad while I've been away (loyalties shift back to me when I'm home every few months though). He's a shop dog who goes to my dad's store with him every day, so he's got something to keep him entertained daily. These are a few pictures for now - definitely long overdue.

Hi Liz,
We've been meaning to write Coastal GSR. We named her Bindi right after we adopted her.
I've also included some photos -- the top two are the most recent. The last one is with our other dog, Cali. This is just a sample; we've taken LOTS of photos of her!
In case Coastal wants some info about how she's doing, the initial two months were tough -- we had to work with Vlade (the "Russian Dog Wizard") to address some serious behavioral issues (biting, growling, etc.). But she's made amazing progress, and now we can't imagine our lives without her; we love her dearly. Despite all the training (and there was a lot), she still is very sensitive to loud sounds and quick movements, to a much higher degree than Shepherds usually are; Vlade thinks it's a genetic trait. But she's also extremely intelligent (she figures out treat puzzles in minutes!), so loyal, very loving and playful; she always wants to be with us (and we want to be with her). Btw, we had her DNA tested and the other significant breed is Doberman; the owners of the other "K" pups may want to know.
That's probably more info than you wanted -- the bottom line, is we're so happy we had the opportunity to adopt her!
Best regards,
Stephen
Cotton
Two days in and he's been the best gentleman we've ever known. He's our boy for sure. I'm literally crying while writing you because he's perfect in every way. I can't imagine my life without him now.
