Coastal German Shepherd Rescue

Biscuit is available ( Updated 12-07-2024 )

Female German Shepherd Dog about 1-2 years old. Gets along with other dogs.

Biscuit and her friend Denali came from the same shelter in Southern California. The shelter said that they were not bonded but they definitely like to be with each other and are buddies.

Biscuit is very shy. Biscuit is not going to choose you to adopt her, you will have to chose Biscuit. Because of past mistreatment, she takes a while to warm up to people and trust them. But - once she does trust you - she will be a wonderful companion and buddy. Just ask her foster family. They have seen an amazing transformation with her since she came to their home.

Biscuit is house broken and crate trained. She doesn't mind being in a crate. She is relaxed and comfortable inside of one and will walk in herself. It is truly her safe place. Biscuit prefers to be equally inside and outside. If she is in the yard and has been out long enough, according to her, she will let you know she wants to be back inside. Other than her crate, her favorite place is curled up on the couch next to her foster mom.

She prefers to play with Denali but will play with other dogs. She loves the company of the other dogs in the home. She is agile - she will need a secure yard and a fence that she can not leap over.

Biscuit loves carrots. It's her favorite treat.

She walks well on a leash but prefers that strange people and dogs keep their distance- she’s not reactive in any way, she just doesn’t choose to interact with anyone she doesn’t know. Biscuit has come a long way since she first arrived at Coastal. She knows her foster home is a safe place and now feels confident to go on walks without rushing to go back inside. She is going to be an amazing companion if you give her a little time, some patience, and a lot of love.

The minimum adoption donation for adults is $375 and the adoption donation for puppies is $500. This amount only partially covers the cost of veterinary care, boarding fees, and other miscellaneous expenses involved in the temporary care and adoption of our dogs and is tax deductible when permitted by law. The adoption donation provides that all dogs will be spayed or neutered, receive current vaccinations, and are microchipped. If not, arrangements will be made on an individual basis ( i.e., puppies who will need to be altered by 6 mos old). Special consideration may be given to those willing to adopt older dogs or dogs with physical problems.
