Astrid was born in January 2019 and was part of our "A litter." We took in the whole family, mother included, from a high-kill shelter. The mother, Aurora, is a gorgeous, purebred GSD who is also available for adoption.
This stunner was adopted by a family when she was two months old, but was returned when it was discovered that she had a congenital heart murmur and PDA (an issue with her aorta) that required surgery. We provided the surgery to correct her heart and this beauty is now ready to go to a forever home. She is full of energy and loves, loves, loves to play, especially with other dogs.
Astrid is with her original foster family in San Diego County and gets along with the other dogs in the household. She really should go to a home with another young dog with whom she can play. She is smart, housebroken, could use a little leash training, and her favorite food is popcorn!
FYI, Astrid will require a check up around August 14th with a cardiologist just to make sure that the valve that was installed is still seated properly. If you are interested in adopting Astrid, an adoption counselor will provide you with additional information.
