This is Zulu. Coastal was contacted by workers at the shelter when this big, beautiful boy was put on the euthanasia list. He had passed all his behavioral tests with flying colors (except the tug-of-war - he didn't want to play) and the only reason he was put on the list was because they were full. We just couldn't let this boy down. So even though we are overflowing at the rescue, Zulu was brought to safety.

Zulu is a BIG (87 pounds) bi-color boy. Believe it or not, he is very skinny and needs to gain about 10-15 pounds. He gets along with everyone and would do well with another bossy dog. He knows how to shake and he walks well on a leash, but he needs basic obedience, as most dogs do. We estimate that Zulu is about 4-6 years old.

Zulu, what a great guy! He's a great fit in any family, regardless how big or small. He's happy if he has food, a warm place to sleep, and a toy or bone to chew on. He's great with people and dogs, in fact, he loves both! He gets excited to see his four-legged friends and always wants to say hello. I've never seen a dog that can come up to the most dominate female and make friends--Zulu can! He's a playful guy that loves to chase his tennis ball. He is pretty obedient as well, excellent at sit, stay and come. His one downfall is that he chases cats, but in a playful manner. Nobody's perfect, right?
