Twyla was rescued from a homeless man who saved her from two other homeless men who were beating her with a stick. Now safe and sound, Twyla is a dream on leash and walks right by your side. She’s housebroken & crate trained, loves her daily walk at the park and loves people of all ages, especially children. She must have lived with a family in the past. She’s non reactive to other dogs, as well as cats, but does best in a home with male dogs; she enjoys playing and wrestling with her GSD foster brother. Twyla knows her basic commands and is learning to play fetch; she loves to carry her squeaky tennis ball around the house.

It’s amazing to see Twyla’s transformation from a hand-shy & leash shy girl to a more confident dog within just a couple of weeks in her foster home. She needs an adopter who understands her abused past and is willing to give her time to adjust to a new routine. All she craves is love and affection, a soft bed and a place where she feels safe.
