Thaddeus

In the few weeks that Thad has been at our rescue, the handsome, 18 month to 2 year old boy has gotten our attention! Mr. Thad needs to get out of boarding and PLAY! He is a tall, male (currently slender in build) – beautiful coat and needs some additional muscle mass that will come with desperately needed exercise. We would guess he is 75-80lbs (underweight); and could easily add 10-15 lbs of muscle. He already makes people turn their heads – but anyone can see the potential to be extremely handsome is just a little TLC away……

At our weekend events, Thad has shown pent up energy. He is often barking (even lunging a bit) at other dogs; but it is as if to say “Hey, what are you doing? I’m bored, let’s play!” It appears he has not been taught how to play nicely, so he comes on like a freight train! Depending on the dog, they might be fearful or aggressive in response to his greeting.

He needs a strong, human pack leader that teaches him how to interact (if Thad could get much needed exercise prior to meeting other dogs, his energy level would be more appropriate to introduce to another dog companion). Learning to socialize with will be a top priority for Thad. We do not feel he is dog aggressive at this time – simply a “bull in a china house.” He is a young dog who hasn’t had the right pack leader!

Thad appears to enjoy the company of all humans – both children and adults. Based on his youth and size, he might not be good with small toddlers (as he might knock them over in his high energy enthusiasm). We are still getting to know Thaddeus, but he is a typical young male. Strong leadership and guidance will make him happy!
