Sochi is a sweet, energetic, gorgeous young gal who adores going for walks, loves her zoomies, is good on a leash, super smart, food motivated, and gets along with dogs of all sizes. She knows her basic commands, is crate trained, potty trained, will let you know when she needs to go outside by bringing you a poop bag (she really did that once!), and is ready to fill your life with adventure and sunshine.

Sochi came to us from a desert shelter, where we could see she'd had a litter of puppies before being picked up as stray. She was adopted, but, once in that home, she had a bad reaction to an edible flea/tick medication, had some seizures, and was returned. She’s seen several vets and has been medically cleared for anything else that could’ve caused the seizure (tumors, meningitis, etc.). We ran a genetic test to find out if she was in the small percentage of dogs who react poorly to the active ingredient in edible flea/tick treatments, but she does not carry that gene. Her primary vet and neurologist think the treatment suppressed her immune system which caused the seizures, but she's since been on medication (around $20 a month through Good Rx) and hasn’t had any more since. Her epilepsy is completely controlled by a low dose of medication and she continues to thrive, live her life, play, run, and enjoy every moment!
