Smokey is a very special puppy. Not as mischievous as his sister Blaze, but has sweetness written all over him. His specialty is to make sure you can’t live without him: either in your arms (yes, he is kind of heavy, but who cares?), or walking between your legs. Not practical to walk, but at least he makes sure he is right on top of your mind! Smokey tends to be a bit alpha, and happily charged a 120 pound GS through the fence of his kennel. That’s because the fence was there…..when he got to meet that gigantic dog with no fence, he was not as brave and decided the best way to handle it was to avoid as much eye contact as possible. And if not possible, sit right under his chest and lick his face.

Smokey is house broken. He has a couple of spots he enjoys outside, and will always go to the same place. He goes through the night with no accidents. He looks a tad bit more like a GS than his sister Blaze, and has the same gorgeous markings on his back. Smokey is not overly adventurous like Blaze is. He loves investigating the backyard, and will happily venture out on his own, but for some reason, he doesn’t seem to enjoy getting himself in awkward situations requiring human intervention to save him.

Right now, he is learning that digging in new or old planted beds is just not a good idea and will get him into trouble. Interestingly enough, the gardening gloves trigger the same message as the digging: NO! So he is trying to stay away from these gloves that are by the planters…..but it is really really hard for a little pup like him! These gloves are very tempting!

Smokey is a very special puppy, he has a little something that his foster family hasn’t found in any other foster yet, and that is making them fear the day he will go to his forever family.

Smokey will probably grow to be about 60-70 pounds, and we think he is about 4 months old.
