Smokey is another "mature" boy that we couldn't turn down when approached by a high kill shelter. As you scroll through our available dogs, you may notice that we have more mature dogs than most. Dogs over the age of 3 can be hard to place - they are the first ones to be euthanized in shelters, usually. Its absolutely heartbreaking to see the number of older dogs being relinquished to shelters - we cannot understand how a family member can be so callously thrown away after years of loyalty. So we say yes to the older dogs more often than not.

Smokey is between 7 and 8 years old, very robust and happy. He gets along fine with female dogs but likes to pick on other males. He would be a great only dog too. Smokey would love a home where he can tag along and participate in family activities!
