Sienna
- Female
Rescued from a backyard, most likely tied to a tree, her wounds are still healing. We do not know where her small injuries / scabs originate from, but we do know that her extra long claws and the calluses on her elbows and even her hips tell the story of a lonesome dog that never was able to move around much - not even thinking about walks or human love and affection! After raising her pups for six weeks in this environment, she was finally rescued.
The day Sienna and her 6 pups were scheduled for euthanization, we rescued them. More scared than anything else, she seemed so thankful and gracious. In the foster home each of them most likely experienced medical attention and regular meals for the first time in their lives.
Some things we all consider the most basic in life, these guys did not even know about ! She is now learning to trust, excersises basic commands (sit, stay, down) and enjoys her daily walks. She walks like a trooper, no tuck, no pull - just the pure enjoyment of "walking"
As we said - the most basic things... She gets along really good with the foster family's dog and both felines. She had to be introduced slowly and patiently - but she is very smart and eager to please, so her adapting time is fairly short. She is very protective of her people and seems to have some apprehensions when it comes to males. Most likely, what ever was done to her, was done by a male. With patience and love you will win her over fast, and the love and the trust she gives back is priceless!
