WOOF! I’m Shaq, a big, black shepherd with a porportionately gigantic heart. I’m confident. I know who I am. I’m stable. I’m looking for a new home.

WOOF! My bark is extremely loud, but I never bark without reason. If someone walks into the backyard or approaches the house, I’ll confidently let everyone know I’m in control of the situation.

WOOF! No one surprises me and when they see me, they’ll know I’m in charge. I’m really tall, and my dark color appears really intimidating. I’m also very, very smart. Upon arriving to my foster home, I’ve quickly assessed all the potential entry and exit points to the house and yard. I’m vigilently keeping an eye on things.

WOOF! Despite my gigantic size and loud voice, you have absolutely nothing to fear as I’m anything but aggressive to the people I love. I absolutely love people and I’m very confident regardless of any situation I encounter – you’ll never see me act erractically. I’ll love you and come ask you for affection. Luckily, my head is never far from your hand because I’m a big dog.

WOOF! If you spend time with me, pet me, and give me attention, I’ll love you! You’ll see my handsome smile as I stare up at you while laying against your legs.

WOOF! I do have to warn you, that tall stature does have a downside – when you’re petting me, my tail starts to swing wildly from side to side. So, keep your glasses away from the edges of tables and don’t get upset at me for unintentionally tailwagging your furniture – I’m just so happy to be loved.

WOOF!

Just so you know, I’m an athletic, agile jumper. I love to jump atop my foster parent’s jacuzzi and look down at them.

My favorite pasttimes and other tidbits:

  • Catching treats in the air. I’m the BEST at this. A treat will NEVER hit the floor again.

  • Eating hot dogs. Gosh, I love those little frankfurters. WOOF!

  • Being with my man. I’m a guy’s dog, but I’ll love the women in his life, too.

  • I’m completely housebroken, so give me some space in your backyard to do my thing.

  • If you let me sleep in a crate, I’ll bark for 5 minutes and then not make another noise all night long.

  • I’ll eat medication from your hand, or on top of a cookie 

  • I’m a big dog and I haven’t been properly leash trained, so you should use a training/prong collar when walking me.

  • I’m super in the car and super with kids (but intimidatnig due to my size and the fact that I like to lick kids!

  • I really get along with other dogs quite well. My foster parent’s annoying 7 month-old puppy and I get along well. As I’ve told you, I’m grounded. No amount of annoying puppy provocation will make me get upset. We now nap together on the doorstep.

  • I don’t know what to do with toys. I don’t think I’ve played with them much. But I am starting to pick them up to see how they feel.

  • I haven’t chewed, dug a hole, scratched, buried anything, or done anything else destructive at my foster parents’ home. Did I tell you I was well grounded?
