Scooter

  • Female

Scooter came to us circuitously and it was serendipity that we held our breath and said yes. The shelter had labelled him dog aggressive. However, as we watched Scooter at a huge adoption event, he had no reaction to other dogs so we knew immediately that he had (as usual) been mislabeled.

Now that we have Scooter, we can tell you that this is one delightful fellow. While his leash skills can use a little polishing (but not a lot - he just dances around in joy as opposed to pulling like a sled dog), we have discovered that he has got some solid obedience training - he sits, shakes (VERY enthusiastically we might add), does a down and we even think he knows rollover!!! Or maybe he just loves a good belly rub.

Scooter can be a little too "enthusiastic" when meeting other dogs but we have been able to pair him up in boarding with a friendly female and he'll quickly learn that maybe the bull in the china shop approach could be toned down a bit. All he really wants to do is play but he needs a little bit of etiquette work which will be easy.

If you are looking for a happy people adoring young man, don't overlook Scoot. He's a diamond in the rough!
