Sam's story is a sad one. Sam was relinquished with his buddy to a shelter. His owner was in a tough situation and didn't think she had any other options.

By the time she learned of Coastal, Sam's buddy was adopted from the shelter and Sam went into depression.

He was scared and fearful, which resulted him being labeled as "Rescue only," meaning he could not be adopted by the public. Either a rescue would have to come to his aid or he would not make it out of the shelter alive.

After hearing the gal's story, we had to help. When Sam came to the kennel he was scared and withdrawn. His care takers spent time quietly talking to him. It dawned on them that he may need a friend since he was likely missing his pal. After being paired up, he did a 180!

Upon spending some time in the yard, we quickly discovered that Sam loves to play catch. He loves other dogs and is an overall happy boy.

Sam will likely prefer a home with another dog as it gives him confidence and companionship.
