When you've got it, you've got it! 😍

Saige is a gorgeous young German Shepherd Dog who had the misfortune of being born with a condition called Megaesophagus. Her esophagus doesn't work to push the food into her stomach, so she has to eat upright and let gravity pull the food down. She has a special chair she sits in to eat and then remain upright for 10 - 15 minutes while gravity does its thing. Other than eating upright, she can do everything a normal dog can do! There is also a small possibility that Saige could outgrow this condition and lead a normal life, but there is no way to predict it. We can predict, however, that she will only get more beautiful as you get to know her.

Saige is an active girl who loves to play. She is a very sweet puppy and was previously in a home with young children and other dogs and did great with all of them. One of the children in the home had Down syndrome and, while she was great with him, the family didn't feel they had the time to dedicate to feeding and caring for Saige. Trying to do what was best for her, they turned to us for help finding her a family who could take care of her needs.

Sadly, this sweetheart has been given up twice already in her short life. We would love to find her a special family who will look past her disability and give her a loving home. If you would consider giving this special needs girl a home, please fill out an online application.
