Rexa

  • Female

Rexa is a sweet seven year old gal. She was turned in to the shelter when her family, the only one she'd known all her life, was moving out of the country. They had intended on shipping her, but plans changed at the last minute and Rexa was dropped off at the shelter just hours before her family boarded a plane. She is confused, depressed, and languishing at the shelter.

She perked up when her evaluator spent some time with her in the play yard at the shelter. She bounced around when she was called, as if she were a puppy once more, pleading to go home with any one that passed by the gate. Rexa is missing the regular human interaction she once had and really needs to go into a foster home, as boarding would be just like the shelter in her mind.

Update 2/06/09 from Rexa's foster dad (he calls her Rexy)

I LOVE Rexy! She will be adopted real soon. She's a smart, loving, playful girl w/no aggression when told to "lighten up". I just love her! I hope she finds a home soon. She's a confused, gentle soul of a dog who needs a warm home right away. I like her. Bottom line. (note from our coordinators: Rexy lives with one of our kennel caretakers in his home - he has a number of dogs who live inside with him so this stamp of approval is VERY appreciated!)
