When we rescued Reese last summer, she had a mangled back leg that our vets tried to save. It was ultimately decided that removing her leg was going to be best for her long term.
There are many misconceptions about "tripods" in that they are somehow lesser than their 4 legged compatriots. NOT TRUE! We have placed many many tripods over the years and once they get their "sea legs", they can be as active as any 4 legged pal. Reese is one of those girls - she has NO idea that she's lost a limb because she runs and plays like any regular old dog.
Reese is a lover of all people, including children... but may be too much for small children as she likes to herd them (she IS a German Shepherd after all!). She is extremely submissive with humans and lays on her back for belly rubs.
While she is not dominant, she is definitely confident - if a dog gets too rambunctious with her, she growls and they usually back down right away.
Reese is housebroken, extremely polite inside the house AND as a bonus, she is fine with easy going kitties. Her current foster home has dogs, cats and children.
