Pharrell

  • Male
  • 1-2 years
  • German Shepherd Dog

Pharrell's story has a fairy tale ending. Literally carried into a desert shelter because he was so weak, just 30 days later he has boundless energy.

Originally thought to be a senior, given his severe condition, we now know that he is likely under 2. As his hair grows back & he fills out, he appears to be a black sable shepherd, possibly from working lines as he is very active. He has a medium ball drive & will happily chase and chew on a tennis ball, just not necessarily bring it back to you!

Due to Pharrell's long term neglect, we anticipate that he will need to be on a specific diet for the remainder of his life - he has a condition called IBD - irritable bowel disease. He eats a prescription food that has helped him gain weight and regulate his intestines.

Pharrell is good with other dogs his size. He DOES have a small animal prey drive & is not a good choice for a family with cats, small dogs or other small animals. He is housebroken & stays inside during the work week while his human family is at work. He's very trustworthy.

We think that the ideal family for Pharrell has previous shepherd experience & will be interested in advanced training work with him.
