Patton
- Female
Patton found himself lost and bewildered after the 4th of July holiday. He wandered onto the secure grounds of a hospital and searched for his family he was lost from. Days turned into weeks and the staff began noticing Patton had settled in and was living on the grounds of the hospital. The very caring officers that worked here began feeding Patton and eventually befriended him. He became a constant companion for one officer and would join him as they walked the grounds of the hospital. Staff at the hospital reached out to a local rescuer who contacted Coastal. We just happened to be in the area today and offered to come by and see if we could help Patton out. When we got to the hospital, we found a very young, very pretty boy who was clearly lost and confused. Unfortunately, Patton does not have a collar, id or a microchip---so there is no way to know if a family was ever looking for him. Patton is under our care now and we are sure that we can find him a loving home where he will not be left to fend for himself ever again. We believe Patton is about 2 years old. He is a gorgeous silver and black German Shepherd and has a very nice plush coat. He has met a few of the other dogs at the rescue and seems to like other dogs and also seems to love children.
Update 10/15/10
Patton has integrated into his foster family well. After spending weeks outdoors, Patton was clearly confused when he was invited into the house to be a part of pack in his foster family. His hesitation quickly faded and now he is a happy member of the household. Patton is extremly affectionate and has an affinity for women, what can you expect from a good looker like him!!
Truly a gentle giant, Patton believes in the Gandhian philosophy of non-violence and steers clear of trouble. Patton is great with other dogs and even gets bossed around by the cats in his foster home.
