Mitch is a large "liver colored" GSD approximately 1-2 years old. A liver shepherd is basically a red-headed shepherd that does not have black pigment because of a recessive gene.
Mitch was hit by a car and underwent surgery for a broken left hip. He recuperated in a foster home and now is totally healed. Mitch was also "cryptorchid" - one of his testes did not drop, and he had a second surgery including getting his double dew claws removed from his back legs. Mitch also had a terrible skin infection that was also treated by Coastal's vets.
Mitch is tolerant with other dogs. He is with two female dogs in his foster home. He will play with one of the dogs but prefers to play ball and follow his foster dad around the yard. He is good with new dogs, walks well on a leash, and knows basic commands. He is good when new people come to the home.
Mitch is food and toy aggressive and that means nobody touch his food bowl until he is done. He will sometimes let you take his toys and play with him but not always. It is better to let him have them.
