Max is just about the sweetest dog you'll meet this decade. He's good on a leash, great in the house, potty trained, crate trained, adores people, and is good with other large dogs. He hasn't been around young children since coming to us, but has been around older children and is fine with them. He can be shy with new people when first meeting them, but warms up and shows you his whole heart.

Around 4 years old, Max was born with a different rear right paw: two of the inside digits lay across the top of his paw. Our vet did X-rays (including his knee and hip, which are in great shape) and determined that leaving his paw as-is would be best for Max. He does sometimes lift up that paw, but the only solution would be removing the whole leg and our vet didn't think that was necessary in order for him to live a normal life. Max loves going for walks, is great in the car, and is a nice, mellow, boy who likes his toys and, most of all, his people. He has pancreatitis, so he eats a low fat diet.
