Mariah
- Female
Mariah came to us through the same vet that helped Shadow. We know that Mariah jumped or fell from a 2nd story balcony, fracturing her hip socket. Her family either couldn't or wouldn't pay for the surgery to repair her so they told their vet to euthanize her. The doctor just couldn't do it and as a true Good Samaritan, vowed to get her healed before finding a rescue group for her. Mariah needed hip surgery, called an FHO which means that the ball of her hip socket was removed. This is a relatively common surgery for dogs with hip dysplasia issues. Dogs with this modification go on to live mostly normal lifes. Since we have had Mariah, her mobility and muscle tone have improved greatly!
Mariah is a BEAUTIFUL girl, about 5 years old. She is patient and kind - she isn't afraid of men, in fact, she adores her male caretaker! When resting, she crosses her paws in the most ladylike fashion! Any of the volunteers that meet her, absolutely fall head over heels for her. Mariah is a true lady, with manners and confidence - whichever family adopts her will truly have a golden treasure in their family!!!
