Margo

  • Female

Meet Margo! There are some dogs that come into the rescue that shock us all with their sheer intellect and drive. Margo is one of these dogs! She displays the best qualities of a German Shepherd dog: loyalty, intellect, strength and beauty. Margo is roughly 4 years old, and has the stamina and drive to be a very active lady. She walks lovely on a leash, and would love to go for a brisk jog with you--with her leash in her mouth if you will allow! Margo seems to prefer being an alpha in her relationships with other dogs and would probably be too much for small dog companions. Margo would do great in a home as a single dog or with other playful medium-large dogs. She has lost her home due to family circumstances. This is a fabulous dog, looking for the right home

Update 11/19 from Margo's new foster mom:

Margo is a super affectionate dog, very playful and active. She is absolutely fine with dogs her own size and bigger but has a tendency to bark at smaller dogs. There are cats in the foster home and the initial intros weren't smooth but they will keep trying.

She is an alpha but also gets along well with strong males - she respects them. She probably won't do well with submissive males - she'll see an open door to torment and make them miserable.

The big revelation about Margo? She's a Lab in Shepherd clothing! Check out the new photos of her in the pool. On her first day in her foster home, she followed the other dogs in...on Day Two, after breakfast, she was first one in!!!! Margo loves to swim and loll around in water...
