Maggie

  • Female

Maggie had two guardian angels. One is her sponsor who visited poor Maggie in the shelter. The other was a shelter worker who vowed to keep Maggie alive until she could get out of the shelter. Maggie stayed in the shelter for nearly six weeks. A miracle really. She suffered from sarcoptic mange, an easily treatable disease. This is her shelter picture. She's only eight months old, but she was tattered and torn. The shelter treated Maggie for mange, and her sponsor visited her every other day to keep her company and help her get well. Maggie's sponsor contacted us and asked us to please save her. She was willing to be a part of the rescue process and stick by Maggie. And with her financial support to back us up, we couldn't wait to bring Maggie to safety.

Maggie is in a foster home where she gets to go to the dog park every day! She loves to interact and play with the other dogs - her confidence grows every day. She is also learning a few manners, like sit, stay and wait...she now loves her crate and will go in for a snooze during the day to get away from it all. She's an adorable girl with tons of puppy energy and love to give.

Maggie looks completely different now and has recovered from her mange, we're just waiting for new photos. She's spouting hair at an amazing rate and will probably be a medium sized, medium length coated girl who looks more like a German Shepherd every day.
