Lundy

  • Female
  • 3-5 years
  • German Shepherd Dog

Lundy was adopted as a puppy from us but has issues with resource guarding with a toddler. The family feels she would do better in a home with older kids or adults.

She is a great dog with good energy. She is not hyper but does like to play. She likes chasing squirrels in the yard but never catches them. She loves to cuddle but won't jump on the bed or couch unless you ask her too. She sleeps in her dog bed and is 100 percent house broken. She does not chew unless she gets a chew toy in which case she destroys it in minutes. Even the ones marketed to be indestructible.

She is great with people that come over to the house, although she sometimes likes to jump up. She does bark when someone knocks on the door and it sounds vicious. But as soon as they come in she tries to lick them.

Lundy hasn't been around a lot of dogs so can be pretty picky about who she likes - she isn't a dog park candidate, at least not right now. We think with work, she will be ok with other dogs because there are other family dogs that she gets along with. She loves to go for walks but continues to need leash work.

Due to her resource guarding, we won't place her in a home with children under 7 years old.
