King's story is very sad. He was loved by his owner who is disabled and needed to leave the country for experimental back surgery. She realized she may not survive the surgery and, if she does, she will be there for a long time, doing rehabilitation, before she can walk again and return home. She made the decision to do what she thought was best for her boy and we couldn't turn down her request for help.

If you're looking for a mellow boy that's just as happy hanging out as he is out and about, then King is your guy. He's just over 7 years old and, while he's considered a senior, he is lively and full of so much more life to give and share. This gorgeous boy is very smart, loving, comforting, kind, attentive/observant, loyal, dedicated, devoted and a faithful GSD. He loves people, children, and other dogs, both big and small. He likes to "tease" cats, but has never hurt one so we think he's probably even cat friendly. He loves to snuggle, give kisses, and comfort when you are sad, upset or crying.
