Talk about a heartbreaking story! 13 year old Jari was turned in to the Baldwin Park Animal Shelter by his owner. Soon after, he developed pneumonia and was hospitalized for a week. Fast forward a couple of months, he's now thriving in a foster home with his young "foster sisters" -- enjoying daily walks and lounging around the house. We don't think Jari knew such luxuries in his prior life -- it took him awhile to even sleep on a doggie bed!
Jari will require a family who will heed his special needs. After his rescue, we discovered Jari has a degenerative spinal disease. This is easily managed with a little extra TLC. Currently, Jari uses a 'wheelchair" when he goes on walks -- this is to help rebuild his muscles and keep him strong. He loves his "wheels" and can go laps around the park. He doesn't need them at home, though. He can walk around the house, etc just fine without them.
For all Jari has been through, he's incredibly sweet and loving. He's settled in nicely into his foster home and will make a wonderful companion for someone looking to give him a loving home to spend his golden years. Jari's story is the epitome of how happy a rescue dog can be when you help them and show them love!
