Jake
- Female
Jake is a handsome, well-behaved 3-5 year old with soft, floppy ears to go with his gentle personality. He loves to be hugged and loved but doesn't pester for attention. He is so easy-going that he fit right in to his foster home as if he'd lived there all his life. He is very intelligent, and easily learns new words and behaviors.
Jake is a real people person. He loves meeting new people, and would be just as happy as punch to be with his person or family 24 hours a day. Jake is probably a German Shepherd / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix, and true to the nature of both breeds, he is intensely loyal. His ideal home would be one where someone's around most of the day, or where he can just jump in the car and go along for the ride. Although he behaves and is not destructive when he's alone, he will try to find his person, so a secure yard is a must.
Jake is afraid of other dogs and can react strongly when he is scared. A caring sponsor offered to cover Jake's bills for some in kennel training and he's done just great! Volunteers have started to reinforce his professional training by taking him through offered obedience classes. Whichever lucky family adopts him will also receive a private training lesson with the trainer that has been working with him, free of charge!
Most likely, Jake won't be a great candidate for dog parks or beaches, but he does love to go for a good run or energetic walk on a daily basis. Although he's athletic and loves a good sprint, mostly he's a low-activity dog and is content to sleep in, hang around the house, snooze while you work, or spend the day doing whatever comes along. His favorite activity is riding in the car, and he loves long car trips.
Jake is a loving companion with a heart of gold. He's sweet and relaxed and perfectly good-natured. His greatest desire is to find a secure and loving forever home.
