Honor

  • Male
  • 1-2 years
  • German Shepherd Dog

Honor was rescued from a high kill shelter that misunderstood the intelligence of German Shepherds. He knew he was in a terrible place and couldn't wait to get out of there.

The moment he was free, he was just fine. He does fabulous in the car, very loving, does ok walking on a leash, but still learning. Honor would do really well with someone that is very active and can include him on fun outings like hiking, running or long walks in the park!

While Honor is a great dog, he is relatively unsocialized with other dogs, although he is improving all the time. He didn't know how to play or read other dog body language when he went into a foster home. He is learning but still doesn't quite "get it". He is with a large pack of dogs, including a 15 lb terrier that occasionally visits.

Honor's best home will be one where the humans have solid experience with reading dog body language in order to help Honor continue with his improving manners. He would do best in a home with older children.
