Graham

  • Female

Graham has many of the wonderful traits known to the German Shepherd breed. He is intelligent, responds quickly to commands and new situations, making him adaptable and affectionate. He is a mellow guy that walks well on a leash.

Graham probably hasn't ridden in a car much, but he learned how to adjust his footing on the passenger seat of the car since his canine hostess was refusing to share the back seat. He got to spend an overnight with one of our volunteers, where he met the cat (a big and bossy cat at that!), was shown where the doggie "facilities" were on the back balcony, and respected the established household pecking order like a good guest. He was able to sit quietly waiting for his turn during treats and also catch easily anything thrown his way. He learned quickly that fingers were not part of the package and was soon taking the food gently. Graham didn't try to get on furniture and was more than happy to settle on the carpet!

When out on walks, he doesn't pull, he follows his human's pace, doesn't find the need to "mark" everything during the walk, and met the parade of big and little dogs that walk around the neighborhood without incident. A lot of people remarked that they thought he had been walking with my dog for years since they did so well together.

Graham is a very good shepherd that has the potential to be truly wonderful. He may not be gooey chocolate sweet or marshmallow soft, but he'll make you want "s'more"!
