Grace

  • Female
  • 1-2 years
  • German Shepherd Dog

Grace has come a long way since she was rescued and went to her current foster home. She is a very sweet girl, wants to please her people, is good on a leash, barks only to alert and will stop when asked. She greets the fosters' female dogs with nudges & kisses but she absolutely loves their male Malinois: Bruce. She plays out back with him, cleans his face and they give each other kisses. A home with a playful, male dog would be heaven for Grace.

Grace is definitely on the submissive side and might do better with a similar dog. If she is being naughty (which is very rare) she corrects very easily. Unfortunately, you can tell she was abused or corrected with a heavy hand in the past. If her fosters correct her, they do so with a just a slight change of tone. If you are too loud, she will hit the floor and flatten out.

Grace is shy around new people. When someone new comes over, the fosters will have them ignore Grace & when Grace is ready, she will approach them. Sometimes it's just a quick sniff and she is ready to seek attention. Once she is comfortable with you, she craves & seeks your attention.

Grace is ready to find her forever family. Her new family should be cautious about open doors and should accompany her in the yard the first few times as she could be a flight risk until she is comfortable in her new surroundings/home.
