Finnegan is about 2 - 3 years old and a skeleton. Originally believing that his condition was due to being left in a yard unattended for a couple of weeks, we quickly determined that we needed to do some tests to further diagnose his situation. Finn has a digestive condition called "EPI" which means that his pancreas doesn't process food well. Once this is diagnosed and medicated properly, a dog with EPI can live a completely normal life. His food takes some preparation (it has to sit for 20 minutes to absorb the medicine) and he cannot eat treats, dinner scraps.

Finn gets along great with other dogs - he is silly, happy, affectionate (he loves nothing more than to curl up on the couch with his foster mom). He is housebroken which is amazing given the fact that we are pretty sure that he lived outside most of the time in his previous life. Right now, Finn is crated during the day to ensure that he doesn't pull any shenanigans with food. He will readily settle in for the day as long as he has a big bone to gnaw on.

I suppose we can call Finn 'special needs' but once his digestion is stabilized, he'll be an easy keeper. He's already gained about 5 lbs in his foster home.
