Duke (turqoise/aqua collar) is a very sweet, round tummied, little guy. We call him “little wolf” because of his appearance but he loves being treated like a baby. He regularly wants to be picked up and snuggled, looking to his human caregivers for love and reassurance, which we are more than happy to accommodate. His deeply warm brown eyes make deep eye contact with each of us too, making us think “this little guy knows stuff!” Duke enjoys playing but can be sensitive to smaller children and larger active dogs. He would do well in a home where he is the focus of attention by his person/people, or in a home where there is an older, gentle dog who can be a role model and help him gain more confidence.

Duke started his life in a shelter. His wonderful mama, Inari, was found emaciated in a field in early December and gave birth to the litter in January. Despite the setback, she was a wonderful mother and raised a strong, sweet and healthy litter! The family found their way to a foster home when the babes were 3 ½ weeks old.

Inari and each puppy have been checked and treated by a vet. The puppies are eating solid puppy food and are healthy! They’ve had constant and connective interaction with the foster family members (even cats) and they love people!
