When Dax's owner passed away, he was taken to the local shelter. We rescued him and have fallen in love with his sweet and gentle nature. Dax is fantastic with other dogs, but didn't appear to have been socialized with people or even let in the house. He was in a great foster home and they worked with him: he's now potty trained, can be left alone with no issues, loves his toys, and started coming out of his shell.

Dax adores adults, but is still a little scared of children. They are loud, fast, and just a lot to take! He isn't bad with children, but he keeps his distance and would prefer a home with just adults. We're guessing he never left his former owner's backyard, as leashes, loud noises, and fast moving objects were overwhelming for him in the beginning, but he's made ridiculous amounts of progress in a short period of time and is a totally different dog now. He's good on a leash, knows his basic commands, loves learning new things, and is a very happy boy. Dax found that living inside with a family was a heck of a lot more fun than never leaving the backyard!
