Darby

  • Female

Darby's life was almost snuffed out but a dedicated volunteer networked him to get him out in time. He is a super sweet guy with a sunny disposition. He gets along great with other dogs and we bet he'd like a kitty too! Darby, like most adolescents, can certainly benefit from an obedience class but he is so eager to please, he should pick up great manners quickly!

Update 1/18/09:

Darby moved into a foster home recently and his foster family gives him a BIG thumbs up! He had to walk into a pack of dogs after a long day of performing all his good deeds at an adoption event. He was universally accepted by all who live there and is a favorite of the youngsters. He is extremely tolerant and playful - after all, he IS a puppy himself. Darby doesn't bark, he has yet to make a mistake - he doesn't have food aggression (he readily shares his food and will allow you to take things out of his mouth), he sleeps quietly through the night in a crate.

Darby is one of the good ones - no baggage even after all the time he has spent in a shelter and in boarding once he came to Coastal. Darby is a guy who actually GAINED weight in boarding (most shepherds don't). We are so thankful to finally have him in a foster home so he can truly have that "warm soft bed" every night and a pack of buddies to play with.
