Cookie came to us after being sent to the shelter with her 3 puppies who were about 2 weeks old. Hard to imagine a 10 year old dog in this position, so we rescued the whole family.

Her story got even sadder when we discovered her faithful caretaker was an elderly man who is now in a nursing home after a serious fall. His children weren't able to care for her, but told us that she has lived with other dogs in the past. Apparently, he took her in some years ago, basically rescuing her from her previous circumstances which weren't good.

Cookie left the shelter for the warmth of a foster home, where she could raise her babies. She proved to be an amazing mom and one of the sweetest girls around. Cookie does get along with other dogs, is great on a leash, potty trained, great in the house, a lover of people and would probably be fine with children. We don't know that we believe she's really 10 years old, but we do believe that she couldn't be any more loving!
