Cody

Cody is a beautiful, tall and fine boned boy with a gentle temperament. He still can't believe he's allowed in the house! It takes gentle encouragement to get him to come in, but he's curious and wants to see what's going on. Cody is a sweet boy, he's always happy to see his foster mom and any dog that happens to be around. He's quite skinny but is eating well and gaining weight.

Cody was adopted a year ago by people who put him in the back yard. Then after a year, they turned him in to the shelter because they didn't have time for him. We don't know where he was before that, but obviously he was isolated in the back yard. Cody's been working on his house manners for just one week, and we think he's got it! He's a very smart boy. His new family will need to be gentle and kind with him, and he'll reward them with all the love his heart can give.

Cody is great with other dogs, but we hear he doesn't do well with cats. He likes to go for walks and is polite on his leash. He's very quiet, and is content to be in his crate over night. Although Cody is confident and happy when outside, walking and at the vet's office, he's a bit shy about being in the house and needs a family willing to pour affection on him to help bring him out of his shell and help him realize he's safe and accepted.
