Meet Claire! Claire and Blue came into our rescue together. They were unceremoniously dumped their owners at one of the LA shelters. No reason was given, just a form signed and handed over. Understandably, this pair was bewildered and confused. They sat in the shelter waiting and wondering if their owner was coming back for them. Sadly, as we already knew, their owner wasn't coming back for them. Their time had run out at the shelter and they were on the list to be euthanized. We were notified by a very kind shelter worker who saw the beauty and dignity that these two dogs had. While we were far too full, we figured out a way to take these two into our safety net. When we picked them up, we were horrified at the condition they were in. Both Claire and Blue were literally one BIG mat. The mats had been growing for years and their coats had never been brushed. Our options were to shave them (ugh!) or have a groomer work for hours (little by little) to get all of the mats out. We went for the latter and their coats are still a work in progress. They have come along way but are far from having the flowing coat that a full-coated GSD should have. With time, good nutrition and grooming, these dogs will be stunning!

Claire is about 4-5yrs old and has a wonderful temperament. She likes all other animals and is gentle with children. She is confident, yet not a bossy gal. She is reserved, yet not shy. She really has a very easy going nature about her and would fit well in most any situation.
