Chip

  • Female

Chip has lived in a foster home since the day we rescued him. He definitely needs a home with other dogs and a family that has dealt with socialization issues. He's a special boy and is very bright but hasn't quite determined that people are good for him too. His foster mom can call him and he comes running, he will take food from your hand but he isn't necessarily interested in people. We are working on this with a behaviorist and Chip is not a choice for a first time adopter or a family looking for a happy go lucky boy. Chip will benefit from a human who wants to help him learn what a wonderful world is waiting out there for him!

Now that we think that Mr Chip descends from the Carolina dog, we better understand his personality. He is perfectly happy to be a companion to other dogs and he will go on walks on a leash. He appears to be attracted to children. He has started attending adoption events with one of his foster brothers to get used to being on a leash and in crowds. So far, he's adjusted as well as can be expected.
