Cherokee is approximately 2-3 years old. A Good Samaritan found her running on the freeway, so she tried to help. Animal Control was called, they were able to pick her up, and the Good Sam got her out of the shelter, promising to find her a good home. Cherokee’s been vetted, got a clean bill of health, and was spayed at the shelter.
She was scared at first, which is understandable, but settled in after a few days and has not tried to run off. Cherokee’s a gorgeous dog with lots of personality. She loves people and generally ignores other dogs. She loves to lean in for pets and rolls over for belly rubs. Highly excited dogs can make her snap in their direction, but her foster has seen no aggression. She walks beautifully on leash and loves car rides. She has a lot of energy: she’s not a couch potato and needs an active owner. She responds well to positive training.
She’s very well mannered in the house, house trained, crate trained, and doesn’t get on the furniture.
Cherokee’s not destructive, but will jump on a door or screen if she sees her foster mom, although she hasn’t chewed up anything. She has no problem being outside with the other dogs and would do best in a home with another dog (or two). This beauty will make some lucky family very happy to call her their own.
