Carson
- Female
Carson's time had come and gone and he was due to be euthanized at a county shelter. We were over our limit on dogs and should have said no, but there was something about his face and his story that told us we had to help him. He has obviously not been treated with the nicest hands and is fearful of being hit again. We are building his confidence and insuring him that he will not be abused again. He is about 2 years old and has a lot of years to forget about his past abuses.
Update 7/1/09 from his foster mom:
Carson is a quiet, unassuming guy. He is somewhat reserved until he gets to know you. He will quietly take up residence next to his human's bed or chair while watching the other dogs in his foster home rough house and play. He's pretty athletic and wants to play with toys but gets a little overwhelmed in the crowd in his temporary quarters. Carson is housebroken, rarely barks and is, in general, a well behaved young man.
Update 5/16/11 from our volunteers
No one can figure out why we've had Carson for nearly 2 years. He is great with other dogs, especially the ladies, he loves to go for walks, he's not super big, but not small either. His only drawback is that he may not be the best choice for a family with small kids and its not because he doesn't like them, he just doesn't like to have arms hanging around his neck. Otherwise, he'd be a great choice for a family with teenagers.
Carson have been overlooked time & time again - we would love to get him into a foster home after being in boarding for so long.
