Buddy

  • Female

When Buddy was about two years old, his first owner, a military man, shipped out. The man’s mother agreed to care for Buddy and did so for almost four years. Unfortunately, she developed some health problems and, reluctantly, decided to turn Buddy over to a shelter, hoping he would be adopted. Buddy was very confused and afraid as he waited in vain in the cold, scary shelter for his mom to return. Fortunately, the shelter called Coastal German Shepherd Rescue and we swooped in to bring Buddy to the safety a foster home.

Buddy is a sturdy, attractive, medium-sized White German Shepherd. He’s dignified and calm, but also very playful with his foster siblings. His foster mom is helping him watch what he eats so he’ll be in perfect shape for his new family. He’s non-dominant, crate-trained, and gets along well with other dogs, both girls and boys. Gentle, patient, cooperative, and affectionate, Buddy is also good with small dogs (he lived with one in his early years) and small children (his foster mom has a four-year-old granddaughter). He could use a little refresher on his obedience training, but his manners are really quite nice. His foster mom says he’s an easy dog to have around.
