Purebred black shepherds can be hard to come by. This guy hid on a junk pile for over a year before we knew his story. Thanks to Hope for Paws, he was taken in, treated for various medical issues (non crucial) - some nasty teeth removed but otherwise, what a boy!
Bruno has the slopey back that many GSD folks admire. Its hard to believe that he lived outside for over a year because now that he is in a foster home, he almost NEVER wants to go outside - he loves his dog bed and LOVES other dogs too but his favorite spot is inside on his very comfy dog bed.
Bruno is a spectacular boy. Friendly, affectionate, calm energy - again, we cannot figure out what his previous life was because once you meet him, you will think he has been in an indoor home since he was a pup. Other than losing some teeth, he is none the worse for the wear of living on his own.
He has taken to simple obedience (sit, etc) with minimal direction. This is one smart fellow who will give years of happiness to his forever family.
However, Bruno needs at least a 6' fence - he can easily pop over a dutch door and a front yard picket fence (4') even with a cone. He is not a runner, will come right back but we like to be very up front about challenges. if you don't have a 6' fence everywhere, he's not the dog for you!
