Meet Bronx, a 4 year old AKC papered GSD whose original owner had a baby and they said he did very well with him. He also grew up with a cat since he was a puppy, loves cats and lives with two mini-dachshunds. He is very friendly.
Bronx had perianal fistulas and his original owners couldn't afford treatment. That condition is nearly resolved and he may require a hypo-allergenic diet (dry dog food) or some medicine to keep him healthy going forward. Good Samaritans who knew Bronx from their dogs playing together at the dog park took him in because his original owners were planning to take him to the shelter and they couldn't stand the thought of such a nice dog risking euthanasia at the shelter.
The first thing the vet did was complement Bronx on his temperament. He is extremely well trained, has been through
obedience classes and knows sit, lay, shake, roll over, load (to get him in a car), and leave (if you feel he is too interested in something and want him to leave it alone).
Bronx also walks like a dream on a leash! He is trained to walk on your left side. If you feel he's going too fast simply say "heel" and he will circle back around to your left side.
Bronx's favorite thing to do is go on walks and he is the perfect dog for anyone who likes to go hiking! Could he be the right dog for you?
