We heard about a dog at the San Bernardino City Shelter who had come in as a stray and had an injured left/rear ankle/paw which wasn't weight bearing. Maybe he'd been hit by a car before being picked up... maybe the tire had run over his paw... no one knew. He only weighed 70 pounds.

He had several metatarsal fractures with ankle involvement. We sent him to Dr. Eich and surgery stabilized the fractures. Post surgery, he wore a cast for weeks, a boot, was on crate rest, and finally healed to the point where he could enjoy being a dog again! He's doing great in his foster home, with other dogs and older children, is good in the house, crate trained, potty trained, and living a life of leisure. He now enjoys going on long walks, trips to the mountains, playing with toys, and even going to the office with his foster dad. If you're looking for a classic GSD who now weighs 93 pounds, has had basic obedience training, a big ball drive, and loves his people like no one's business, Briggs is the boy for you.
