Beau is just about a year old. He had a congenital deformity in his left rear leg when he was rescued from the shelter. That leg was amputated and now Beau is struggling to learn to walk using his right rear leg. He had a surgery and physical therapy to try and help but he still has issues using his rear leg when trying to stand and walk. He has recently been fitted for a cart to give him support as he develops strength in his rear leg and builds up his stamina. He is adjusting to it but still tires out.
Beau is very loving with people and lives in a foster home with other dogs. He has also lived with a cat. He loves to cuddle and thinks he is a big lap dog.
Beau is potty & crate trained and has never gone in the house. He has had some basic obedience training which will need to be continued.
Beau gets very attached to people so switching his "people" and living space can be upsetting to him. He can also fear bark at new dogs in a busy environment but, usually, if he is allowed to greet the other dogs, he calms down. He has been good with other dogs in boarding and in foster homes but wants to play with them and can come on strong.
