Bandit

Bandit is a very well mannered boy who loves to play and adores other dogs. He is the type of dog that would love to be in a “follower” role as opposed to being the leader. Bandit was given up by his family who had him since he was 8 weeks old, he was then taken to a kennel for at least a month, soon after that to a different kennel for another 2 weeks, then to a foster home for a good month. He loved his foster family and his foster sister who made sure he was always well behaved . . . once again he lost his foster family not Bandit’s doing but the house got smaller having 2 huge dogs.

Bandit once again came back to the kennel, he again stayed in this noisy “home” for another 2 weeks, patiently waiting . . . 2 weeks later he was taken home by another family who had him for 2 days and decided (again) they didn’t want a big dog. Bandit had bonded so quickly with the family that when taken (again) back to the kennel all he wanted to do is run the other way back into their car, despite the fact that he was swatted by their kitty twice . . . he couldn’t run away fast enough, and all he was doing was sniffing her.

One of our volunteers had decided to bite the bullet, having 6 dogs already and took him in to be fostered. The promise was made to Bandit that he will never leave this house until he finds the most perfect home that would love him for his size and that would take all the love this boy can give.

Long story short, he has been shuffled in so many different locations and situations, and yet this boy is so well behaved, and well adjusted.

He came to his new foster and within 2 hours was playing with his sisters. He lives with 3 males and 3 females, he’s been extremely patient with the boys who didn’t really like him in the beginning. He tries so hard to show them that he is not a threat.

Bandit’s ideal home would be one that has another playful dog or two and an adult only home.

We received a message from his new foster Mom, and here’s what she said about Bandit:

He is a very patient, well behaved, loves other dogs, playful, quite the intelligent one & loves his new foster home!
