Arrow

  • Female

Arrow is less than two years old and full of energy. He is a large, handsome, male shepherd - weighing close to 90 lbs. He appears to have NO discriminating tastes, as Arrow loves everything - people, dogs (we believe even small animals). His one goal in life - PLAY!

Although his demeanor is wonderful, we would suggest that Arrow not be in a home with small children. Simply put, he is a "bull in a china house." He does not appear to know his own strength and has boundless energy. Arrow corrects easily, but needs calm and consistent reinforcement to learn his house manners. Arrow does appear to know his basic commands - sit, down, come, etc. He really wants to please and will learn quickly with consistency and routine.

Arrow is currently in a foster home with four shepherds - males and females. He is confident interacting, but does not appear to play a dominate role in the pack (despite his size).

Arrow was turned into the shelter for scaling a chain link fence. In the few days he has been in his foster home, we have seen no "escape" behavior. We suspect he might have spent long hours outside and was desperate for human interaction. We would suggest that Arrow have at least one doggie companion - he needs a playmate to work out some of his daily energy. A companion should also help keep him calm when his humans are not home.
