Anna Mae and another dog were rescued from a wrecking yard located in the Inland Empire. Both dogs were neglected, hungry, and covered with fleas.
Anna Mae is about 5 years old and it took her a while to bounce back from being a neglected dog to being the sweet, pretty dog she is today. She had some sensitive stomach and kidney issues when she first came to the rescue and needed time to adjust. She currently eats a prescription diet and her appetite is now much better and her kidney values are back to normal.
Anna Mae is in a foster home and gets along great with the Chihuahua and the other GSD in the household. She loves to go for walks, especially at the dog beach. She has a little arthritis so a mile long walk is her max. Anna Mae gets along with people and other dogs. She is not dog reactive and walks awesome on a leash. She is fine with small dogs.
Anna Mae has been interested in the cats she sees at the park and would like to meet them but so far has not. She has been around children of all ages but they actually make her nervous and she would prefer not to be around them. She doesn't like too much traffic in the home and she would be best in a quiet household. When there is a dog door or an open door, she likes to go in and out at her leisure. She enjoys being outside.
Overall, Anna Mae had a rough period in her life but has done really well since rescued. She now needs a quite place where she is appreciated, loved, can go on walks and to the beach, and maybe have a few dog friends to hang around with.
