Abigail
- Female
Abigail was turned into a high-kill city animal shelter when her owner said they had no time for her. By the looks of it, we are assuming that "no-time" also meant "no-food". Abigail is extremely skinny and very under nourished. You can count every rib and her hips and shoulder bones protrude. Abigail is about 15 pounds under weight and we are determined to get her back to health and in tip-top shape.
Despite being very poorly cared for, Abigail has a spring to her step and is very loving and affectionate. She enjoyed a walk outdoors and seemed to relax in the warm sun.
Thanks to a very kind volunteer who sponsored Abigail's rescue, we were able to get her out of the shelter just in the nick of time. Abigail's hours were numbered and we were not sure that we could take on yet another dog. Thank to Abigail's sponsor she is safe with us now.
Abigail is in need of a foster or adoptive home. She is currently in boarding, which is no place for her to convalesce. She is very easy going and would be very thankful for a warm bed and a place to call her own!
